Three Reasons Your “Diet” Isn’t Working

Being healthy is a lifestyle that takes time to develop. You do not develop this healthy lifestyle over night or after a three day cleanse. It requires skipping the coffee shop muffin and latte each morning and opting for homemade coffee and oatmeal or eggs instead, planning ahead, and simply finding what works best for you through trial and error. So, if you’re on a diet, here are a few reasons it may not be working out and that its time to reevaluate.

1.) Lack of energy and memory. Constantly being tired and forgetting your normal day to day activities can mean that your body is running low on important nutrients. Work on eating more fruits and veggies, healthy carbs, and healthy fats as well as staying well hydrated to add these nutrients back in your diet.

2.) Weight gain or constantly being hungry. If you feel that you’re gaining weight or feeling more bloated than usual, it could be because your diet is too restrictive. Not eating enough can actually cause weight gain! Focusing on getting stronger and eating healthier will melt off the pounds and inches more than any diet ever will.

3.) Feeling miserable. The holidays are right around the corner. Nothing will make you feel more miserable than being on a no carb diet while everyone else is enjoying themselves. You are more likely to feel miserable when on a restrictive diet than if you were to get on track to a healthy lifestyle and follow the 80/20 rule. Eat healthy and clean 80% of he time and enjoy yourself 20% of the time. You can enjoy a cocktail and a treat every now and again, as long as you remember to do it in moderation!
