All About Alison
Name: Alison Wheeler
Occupation: Regulatory Specialist, Clinical Research
Family: Married, two cats (Dylan and Pagoda)
Favorite exercise & fitness activities
Yoga, pole fitness, kettlebell, and running
Favorite foods & cuisines
I LOVE food! Growing up with a cook for a mom made me a foodie from an early age. I love authentic Italian food. Homemade pasta is light and delicious.
I don’t eat much meat, so I always gravitate towards vegetarian options on the menu. If a sandwich or omelet has spinach, avocado or mushrooms, I’ll order it!
My favorite sweet treat is a simple sugar cookie with frosting. I’ll choose this over any other dessert. 🙂
Favorite outfits to bring out your Sexy
I’m the type of person who puts on yoga pants right when I walk in the door. So I love any opportunity to get dressed up and go out! I love wearing black so that a little bit of color in a scarf or accessory pops. I also love tops that seem normal from the front but show some skin in the back!
I’m passionate about making the world a brighter place. A simple smile or act of kindness can go a long way. If I can make someone’s day a little better, even if just for a few minutes, I’ve made a difference.
I’ve worked in research for almost 10 years and love knowing that in some small (or big) way, we’re changing the world.
I live by this quote: “Go out in the world and do well. But more importantly, go out into the world and do good.”
What do you do to relax?
Yoga, yoga, yoga 🙂
What does the “Strong is Our Sexy” philosophy mean to you?
I’ve struggled with weight most of my life and didn’t find my passion for health and wellness until after I graduated from college. I always associated ‘skinny’ with ‘sexy’. This philosophy reinforces that sexy isn’t confined to one box.
I love the high I get after a workout and that carries into the rest of my life. I never knew I could feel this way and couldn’t be more grateful to be a part of a community that constantly reminds me “Healthy is Happy’ and ‘Strong is Sexy’.
