This past week here in Cincinnati, we have faced more snow than we would have liked, and freezing temps. Almost every school in the city was off all week long. The first snow day can be extremely fun, however as the snow days become a week long break, we start to get some cabin fever. So what are some activities we c an do while snowed in, and still maintaining a healthy diet?
1.) Warm up with some protein pancakes in the AM! Target sells Kodiak Protein Pancakes for $4.99 a box. They contain 14g of protein preserving! Add some sprinkles, bananas, or other fun ingredients for a protein packed, warm breakfast! Or click here for more recipes!
2.) Warm up (again) with some Protein Hot Chocolate. This is a great recipe for after you shovel snow, take the kiddos sledding, or even if your sitting at your desk at work in need of something warm and filling!
– Add 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
– 8 oz hot almond milk
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– Add protein powder to hot Almond Milk, or any milk you choose. Stir in vanilla extract and sweetener of choice (if need be). Sprinkle with Cinnamon
3.) Clean the house! This is an amazing time to get some winter deep cleaning done. Have the kids clean and organize their rooms. This way you can get all the baseboards, toilets, laundry, etc. done!
4.) Rearrange furniture. Give your rooms a new look during these unbearable snow days. This is also another great way to redecorate and deep clean your house.
5.) Get outside! Go shovel snow, build snowmen, go sledding, have a snowball fight, or play tag with the snowballs. There’s so much to do outside, all you have to do is dress warm and get the hot coco ready for when you’re done! Click the picture below for some fun ideas!
